Dan Fogelberg--The Legend Lives On

Add to Technorati Favorites

Beautiful, isn't it? I may be dating myself, but I can remember listening to Dan Fogelberg while growing up. When he left us in 2007, I felt as though I'd lost an old friend. Like all artists, however, Dan lives on in his art-in this case the wonderful music.

For the first time in five years, a new CD is being released for Dan Fogelberg fans! Fred Migliore, host of FM Odyssey, the long-running nationally syndicated radio show, has released a two CD interview retrospective with Dan Fogelberg. During that interview, Fred engaged Dan in a wonderful, animated conversation about Dan’s first 25 years in the music business.

You will hear 13 full-length songs, including "Same Old Lang Syne," "Nether Lands," "The Last Nail," and "Mountains To The Sea," as well as Dan's thoughts on many of those songs.

This 2 CD Collector’s Edition is available for $29.95 at http://www.fmodyssey.com/

Three dollars from each CD sold will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Dan’s name.

I love Dan Fogelberg. No matter what changes in life, his music has grounded me for over 30 years. One of the things that has driven me crazy over the years is how Dan was pigeonholed as a "soft rock" singer, with so many people only knowing about four of his hits. Longer, Leader of the Band, Run for the Roses, Same Old Lang Syne; while I have loved these songs along the way, they in no way touch the depth of Dan's library of genius lyrics and musical composition. I like to believe that only a certain number of people had the ears to hear, and I am one of them.
If you would like to be one of them, go buy Netherlands or Captured Angel, they are both masterpieces.
Dan may be gone from this world, but he is still alive in me.

I feel so privileged to have met such a legend! I knew at the time that I was making history but I never knew what a following Dan had till the release of the interview I did with him. I feel so much more connected to my fans now! I am so blessed!
