Magic, Mensa and Mayhem--A Review

What do you get when you send magical creatures to a Mensa convention? Add together an odd assortment of both magical and non-magical creatures and Mensa members having a convention, send in Vern, a dragon who makes his living as a Private Investigator, to keep an eye on things--and let him relate the event in his own words, and you have a hilarious tale full of Magic, Mensa and Mayhem.

Karina Fabian writes in a style that is fresh and full of laughter. I fell in love with Vern's somewhat sarcastic sense of humor before I was ten pages into the book. The characters came alive for me--making me actually believe in the possibility of such an event. Ms. Fabian has written the ultimate adult fairy tale-one that can also be shared with your kids. This book will take you back to times long past, when a bedtime story had you begging for "just one more chapter". The only thing I found disappointing about Magic, Mensa & Mayhem was that I had to close the cover when the book came to an end.

I give this book seven colors on the Rainbow Scale-A Perfect Rainbow!

I agree that Vern is an unforgettable character and I hope to see him in many upcoming books. Karina does a fine job of mixing many elements into one very enjoyable book.

Thanks so much for the review! It made me blush. I do read the stories to my kids, incidentally.
